Hello everyone. The updated version of the rulebook will be posted late Wednesday evening. Before it goes live, I wanted to make you all aware of a change we are making to the amount of XP you have earned between events.

As you all know, we have been conservative about the amount of XP we have rewarded in comparison to some of the cost of the skills and other attributes in the rulebook. We wanted to let an event or two go by to allow us a baseline as to how the new system worked, and we didn't want to take away any skills from our players if we had to scale back.
Based on your feedback and our observations, all XP earned between events will now be doubled. This includes XP for events, PELs, Cleanup, NPCing other LARPS and donations. The only thing this does not apply to is starting XP. So, each event is (at its baseline) now worth 40 XP (20 XP for attending, 10 for cleanup, and 10 for PEL).
This change is retroactive, so any rewards you have earned up to this point have also been doubled. Remember that all character updates should go through logistics@theislesLARP.org, and if you are unsure of how much XP you have to spend, you may also check in with Laura Hodgkins Schultz there as well.
We wanted to announce this early so you can plan on where you are spending your extra XP.

Also, as a reminder, please preregister if you think you are going to be coming to the event. Preregistration can be done through our site, www.theislesLARP.org, or can be sent via email to admin@theislesLARP.org . You don't have to pay to preregister, and can pay on site, but if you show up and we don't have you on our list, you don't get the $20 preregistration discount.

Hi friends,

We're still figuring out the best way to get character updates to folks so they have all the information they need to update their characters before the next event. Currently, our plan going forward is as follows:

When you register for the event, our logistics group will send your updated character sheet to you with the updated XP we've credited thusfar. For new characters, once you send us your character concepts, we'll work with you to set up your character sheets so they reflect the appropriate racial bonuses.

For those of you who have preregistered at this point, we will be getting your sheets out to you shortly; I'd expect them by the end of this weekend at the latest.

Just a reminder to get your research and pre-registration in ASAP! Remember that our pricing includes a $20 pre-registration discount. If you let us know you're coming, either by registering in the EVENT INFORMATION tab, or sending an email to register@theisleslarp.org . You can still pay at the door and receive the discount if we know to expect you.

If you don't let us know ahead of time, the at-door cost will be higher. Please let us know ASAP that you are coming if you haven't already.

Second, same goes for NPCs! We need to know you are coming. Drop us a line at NPC@theisleslarp.org to let us know you're attending. We need these numbers ahead of time to plan for food and insurance costs. Please let us know if you plan to attend. Thanks!

Hi folks! Some information about Character Creation Day:

We will have people on hand to talk about your concepts as well as to help build your characters.

We are also going to be holding an auction and a raffle:

The Auction will feature unique character traits and backgrounds not offered to everyone which will add a story element or historical background which will affect your story line in some way.

The Raffle will be for items which will be in your possession at the start of game that don't count toward your starting equipment cost. They will all "do" something or have done specific property.

Lastly, we are offering registration on site. Anyone who registers at the event will get to purchase the first event at "season pass" prices as an early-bird discount. (If you cannot attend, please message us before the day of the event if you would like to take advantage of this.)
